FREE BROWSER TOOL
Watermark an ID copy
Add a recipient, purpose and today’s date to an ID or document image or PDF. Preview the copy and download a JPEG. Free, with no account.
Your file never leaves this device
Your preview will appear here.
JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB and 60 megapixels, or a PDF up to 10 MB and 6 pages. Images and PDF pages are resized to at most 1600 pixels on the longest side. A PDF is turned into page images and downloaded as one JPEG with the pages stacked; its text and links are not kept. For encrypted storage of originals, use the vault.
How it works
- Choose an image or PDF from your device. The tool reads it in your browser.
- Enter who the copy is for and, optionally, why. Today’s date is added automatically.
- Check the preview, then download the watermarked copy. Your original file stays unchanged. Use Choose an image or PDF again to replace it, or Start over to clear the fields.
What to write on the watermark
Use a specific recipient and a narrow purpose: “For ABC Rentals · Apartment application · 2026-11-04”. Avoid vague labels such as “For verification”. Do not add extra personal details to the watermark.
Read the guide to what to write on an ID copy for renting, banks and exchanges.
What a watermark can and cannot do
A watermark deters misuse and shows who a copy was for. It does not make a document impossible to misuse. Someone may edit or remove it; it cannot stop copying or prove who shared a document. Check the recipient and submission channel before sharing.
Frequently asked questions
Is this ID watermark tool free?
Yes. It is free and needs no account. Choosing an image does not create or open a vault.
Is my file uploaded or saved?
No. Your file and watermark fields stay in this page’s memory. Nothing is uploaded or saved in browser storage. Downloading saves a JPEG to your device; starting over or closing the page clears the tool.
Can I watermark a PDF document here?
Yes, for PDFs up to 10 MB and 6 pages. The pages are drawn as images in your browser and watermarked together, and you download one JPEG. Text, forms and links in the PDF are not kept, and password-protected PDFs are not supported.
Will a watermark prevent identity fraud?
No. A watermark can deter misuse and show who a copy was for. It can be cropped, edited or removed, and does not make a document impossible to misuse.
Will a bank or landlord accept a watermarked ID?
Acceptance varies. Ask the recipient what they need before sending a copy. Keep required details readable and use the recipient’s verified submission channel.
Keep your originals in an encrypted vault
If you need to prepare copies again later, Seuvo’s vault keeps encrypted originals and a history of the copies you prepare.
